Chris Kimbell

Kimbell is a founder and VP Programming of DECA, an entertainment studio formed in 2007. DECA identities, funds, markets and distributes next-generation digital entertainment properties, bridging the gap between Hollywood, Madison Avenue and Silicon Valley. Previously, he built a career on identifying and implementing new digital marketing and revenue strategies for entertainment properties. As executive director of strategic alliances for Sony Pictures Television, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, he drove the division’s efforts to develop original entertainment franchises for emerging media platforms and extend Sony Pictures properties into the digital marketplace through innovative strategic partnerships while creating new solutions for advertisers.

As executive director of strategic alliances for Sony Pictures Digital he and his team developed and executed integrated marketing and business development initiatives with partners that include American Express, Budweiser, Cingular, Comcast, Ford, Intel, McDonalds, Motorola, Verizon, and Wal-Mart.

Kimbell is also responsible for developing an array of successful original entertainment programs including Flash Concerts, an innovative music performance and event series format. Kimbell also developed and lead the team that launched the studios first ever movie download program tied in to the theatrical release of Spider-Man 2.

Previously, Kimbell served as vice president, product development for
LAUNCH Media  (now Y! Music)where he was part of the core team that helped establish and grow the online music media company from start-up through IPO and until the acquisition by Yahoo! During this time, Kimbell drove the overall product vision, oversaw revenue product strategy and managed creative, production and ad operations teams.

Kimbell holds a B.A.(Honors) in International Relations from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
